A black and white abstract expressionist photography-based art piece that has a certain pop art feel: It’s the flow of lines and masses that does it.This smaller abstract is envisioned on 18×18 canvas, perhaps for the cautious collector.I wanted to do something in my black and white series that had a more organic flow, similar to my earlier acrylic action paintings. Although the masses are larger here, there is a feeling that is similar overall to those earlier more Pollock-like works.

look closely and you can see a demon or the Green Goblin,
a lil bit too much like Rorshachs for my taste.sorry.
It sounds like you prefer the more representational works. 🙂
I like to have some variety here. When people think of abstract art they typically picture abstract expressionism where there is no representation at all. Before the rise of the “New York School” however, abstract art had a subject and was actually “abstracted from” something.
You’ll see that kind of old school stuff here, too – and sometimes work that actually sits on the line between the two such as this piece: You see, this abstraction is actually based on a real subject and the masses come directly from the leaves which were deliberately motion-blurred. Although it isn’t to your taste I like to think that there is something in my work for everyone. 🙂
