Media Guy Graphite Portrait Sketch

Posted on August 2, 2006January 4, 2023

Sketching when done right has an interesting way of bringing out a person’s character and emotions. It’s hard to explain but you’ll see it in this sketch.

Media Guy
10″ x 14″ graphite, by Pagani 2006
There is no truth in art, every line is a lie – as in life. Yet art IS truth, for it belongs to the world of that which is unseen. The lines reveal what lies beneath the truth … and above it.

This is much more of a freeform sketch or caricature, rather than a detailed portrait as you might see elsewhere. I love to do these just to see the results!

He has an odd expression. I can’t put my finger on it. Is he pensive? Is he fearful? Is he smirking? Does he know something I don’t?

Your work is really good, btw. Keep it up.
